DGMKG - GERMAN SOCIETY FOR ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY
We are the legal office of the DGMKG – German Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The DGMKG is the general association of all specialists for oral and maxillofacial surgery in Germany. The overall association with over 1,900 members is a voluntary association of these physicians for the protection, promotion and representation of scientific, professional, economic and other interests. The DGMKG represents the specialty of maxillofacial surgery in matters of scientific presentation, professional policy issues and the further development of the specialty in clinic and practice.
After having been in charge of the legal department of the North Rhine-Westphalia regional association of the DGMKG for many years, we took over the legal department on the level of the federal association on 01.01.2023. In this capacity, we advise the professional association in all areas of medical law, e.g. Law governing panel doctors and panel dentists, corporate law (establishment of MVZs, acquisition and sale of practices/MVZs, admission and withdrawal of shareholders, etc.), medical and dental fee law, medical liability law, medical criminal law, medical product law, pharmaceutical law, dental and medical advertising law, professional law, licensing law) as well as in related legal areas (e.g. tax law, administrative law).”
ECDI - EUROPEAN CENTERS FOR DENTAL IMPLANTOLOGY
We are the legal office of the ECDI – European Centers for Dental Implantology.
The ECDI is an association of currently 36 clinics from Germany as well as further selected centers from Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Denmark, Lithuania, Iceland, Hungary, Croatia and Greece. All clinics of the ECDI combine quality and the expert knowledge of the most modern dental implantologists in Germany and Europe. The core of ECDI is implantology based on the latest technology and close cooperation with patients and partners.
We have been providing legal services to ECDI for many years and advise both ECDI and its members and member clinics in all areas of medical law, e.g. the law governing panel doctors and panel dentists, corporate law (establishment of MVZs, acquisition and sale of practices/MVZs, admission and withdrawal of shareholders, etc.), medical and dental law, and the law governing the legal aspects of dental implantology. ), medical and dental fee law, medical liability law, medical criminal law, medical product law, pharmaceutical law, dental and medical advertising law, professional law, licensing law) as well as in related areas of law (e.g. tax law, administrative law).”

CONTINUING EDUCATION AS A CORNERSTONE OF QUALIFIED ADVICE AND REPRESENTATION
The maintenance of the specialist attorney designations for Professor Dr. Dr. Karsten Fehn (specialist attorney for medical law, specialist attorney for criminal law) and Christina Heneka LL.M. (specialist attorney for medical law) requires proof of ANNUAL CONTINUING EDUCATION in their special fields to a certain minimum extent. The same applies to the certifications of the German Defense Lawyers Association (DSV e.V.) awarded to Professor Dr. Dr. Karsten Fehn and Dr. Dr. Bernd Josef Fehn. The additional qualifications as certified defense attorneys for criminal tax law and certified defense attorneys for criminal economic law expressed therein also require the proof of an annual lecturing or listening further training in the field of criminal law and in particular criminal tax law and criminal economic law, which may not fall below a certain minimum level.
However, those who continue their education to an extent that exceeds the extent required to hold the specialist attorney titles awarded by the bar associations and the certifications awarded by the DSV e.V. may also apply for the continuing education certificate of the German Federal Bar Association. The partners of the firm, Professor Dr. Dr. Karsten Fehn, attorney at law, and Dr. Dr. Bernd Josef Fehn, attorney at law and tax advisor, fulfill the licensing conditions and have both acquired the protected right to use the nationally uniform continuing education logo of the German Federal Bar Association.
